Senior Data Scientist

The Company 

Join a fast-growing finance and technology company operating in multiple countries. The company delivers personal lending products through online, mobile phone, and branch channels. Backed by strong shareholders and a board of directors with vast experience in entrepreneurship and lending, they are currently seeking a Data Scientist to join their data team.

The Role 

You'll be part of the data team executing the credit scoring roadmap. The ideal candidate must balance analytical diligence with a willingness to learn and innovate. A healthy spirit of adventure and sense of humour would be helpful.

Experience 

• Degree in actuarial science, statistics, mathematics, or engineering.
• Passion for Africa and willingness to work in the developing world context.
• Be able to confidently engage with internal clients.
• Strong numerical/coding abilities.
• Basic understanding of data warehouses and data structures.
• Proficient in data analysis tools (Google Big Query, SQL, Python, R).
