Senior Frontend Developer

The Company

The group, with roots dating back to the nineties, holds controlling interests in responsible travel companies and supports impact initiatives in African wilderness areas. They employ over 1,000 people, run 20 camps and lodges, and operate with a certified B-Corp focus on sustainability. Ambitious expansion plans are underway to enhance guest experiences, travel offerings, and positive impact activities in the region. The Role

• Frontend Development.
• Management of UI component library.
• Provide and test performance enhancements to ensure the best Page Speed score.
• Quality assurance over Frontend to Backend integration.
• Strive to take ownership and build in-depth knowledge of the site architecture and frontend dependant systems.
• Ensure the highest standards of quality product is maintained.
• Build new features and functionality by writing clean, functional, and well-commented code.
• Work with the design team to create new and modify existing UI components as company needs arise.
• Produce prototypes of web components for A/B testing.
• Own and complete development cycles during sprints.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation.

Experience

• Tertiary Qualification in Computer Science or related field.
• 6 years of experience building frontend applications.
• JavaScript (ES6), HTML5 & CSS.
• Bootsrap & SCSS.
• Develop web components within an isolated UI environment using Storybook.
• React and/or Vue.
• Git.
